It's not a guarantee of element initialization, or of a particular traversal order. Here, concurrency-safe means pointers or iterators are always valid. Iterator access and traversal operations are also concurrency-safe. Append operations do not invalidate existing pointers or iterators. The concurrent_vector class enables concurrency-safe append and element access operations. The concurrency::concurrent_vector class is a sequence container class that, just like the std::vector class, lets you randomly access its elements. This topic describes the following parallel containers and objects in detail.ĭifferences Between concurrent_vector and vectorĭifferences Between concurrent_queue and queueĭifferences Between concurrent_unordered_map and unordered_map Use concurrent objects when you would otherwise use a synchronization mechanism, for example, a mutex, to synchronize access to a shared variable or resource. The combinable class lets you perform computations in parallel, and then combine those computations into a final result. The concurrency::combinable class is one example of a concurrent object type. A process that computes the state of a concurrent object in parallel produces the same result as another process that computes the same state serially.
#Parallels map code
Use concurrent containers when you have parallel code that requires both read and write access to the same container.Ī concurrent object is shared concurrently among components. For example, the concurrency::concurrent_vector class resembles the std::vector class, except that the concurrent_vector class lets you append elements in parallel. The functionality of these containers resembles those that are provided by the C++ Standard Library.

_ c.The Parallel Patterns Library (PPL) includes several containers and objects that provide thread-safe access to their elements.Ī concurrent container provides concurrency-safe access to the most important operations. Through which five states does this line pass?Ī. With your marker, trace over the meridian 105W in the area of the United States. Through which two continents do all of these meridians pass?Ī. Find the following meridians on your globe: 15W, 0, 15E, 30E, 45E. How many meridians are shown on the globe?ħ. The lines on your globe are shown every 15. They number from the Prime Meridian (line 0) to 180W and from the Prime Meridian to 180E.Ħ. They converge or come together at the Poles. Meridians are lines that run from the North Pole to the South Pole. These lines are drawn on maps and globes so that people can locate places. Meridians are another name for lines of longitude. Four are designated with broken lines, one divides the globe in half.ġ. Name five parallels that have names on your globe. Parallels are lines that circle the globe. Latitude measures distance north and south from the Equator. We call these parallels because they are always an equal distance apart. You will see that these lines do not converge, or come together, anywhere on the globe. Parallels are another name for lines of latitude.
